Inventing the future of energy may be key to improving U.S. national security, economic prosperity and health
NATIONAL HARBOR, Md.—Flexible solar cells now power communications equipment used by U.S. Marines fighting in Afghanistan’s Helmand Province, enabling them to shed 315 kilograms worth of batteries while on foot patrol. The last eight presidents have gone on television and promised to move America towards an energy-independent future, but not enough progress has been made. Check out this this hilarious but very true Daily Show clip.
Gas prices nationwide are nearing record highs, following the second largest two-week jump in the history of the gasoline market. The average price for regular is $3.51, up 15 cents in the past week and 33 cents in the past two weeks. The only bigger jump on record — of 38 cents between August and September 2005 — was due to damage caused by Hurricane Katrina.
The highest average prices in the country are in Hawaii ($3.96 per gallon), followed by California ($3.89 per gallon).
Energy Xtreme’s applications reduce cost while improving your carbon footprint. Reducing costs is now more important than ever with these record high gas prices.
